I’m one of the regular models and author of these pages.
I’m not personally involved in running the club but I would appreciate any feedback on the events and the online content, I can share and discuss this with Tracy. My contact info at the bottom of the page.

What’s in a pose?
I plan to write a page on this and presently awaiting feedback from some other models.
I’ve e been modelling for quite a few years now and this is one of my latest poses. The positions are almost always left to the model to decide and this can come as a surprise if you’re not prepared.
Below my photograph I’ve listed a few of my thoughts that shape a pose.

Studying other models work and artists drawings is helpful.
I will normally offer a verity of different heights and widths in each group of poses. Always checking to ensure everything can be seen and feet or hands are not obstructed.
To offer greater visibility of the muscles and bones beneath my skin I’ll often raise an arm above my head to stretch my skin.
Maximise shadows with the positioning of limbs.
Just by lifting my heal slightly I hope to give a little more shape to my leg.
I consider the position of my hands and fingers hoping this is helpful to scale.
Facial expression can be forgotten but I believe it’s important.
Challenging positions outside the norm. Sometimes holding my legs in the air or positioning myself with my feet closer to the artists than my face.
It’s interesting to consider that some of the artists may just be drawing a small area of your body, perhaps a leg, head & shoulders or mid section.

And most importantly I consider my ability to hold the position.
Still like a statue 🤣
Photo modelling
I had the opportunity to pose as a photo model for Tracy and a few artists at a drawing event in Milntown Gardens.

Body painting

I am very keen to promote life drawing to those that can’t easily attend club meetings. Read more about my online drawing ideas here:
