Why draw naked people?
There are so many advantages, it’s beneficial for the artist, the model and everyone else! This includes those around at the event, those seeing the artwork, those reading this and probably even those who may meet the artist or model.
The model pictured here is Fer Lomarcan, that’s her artist name – Manx for lone wolf. She’s a strong and hard working young Manx woman and an artist. This is her first and only experience as a model so far.
I’ve described her as strong woman, and she is but being naked will show her vulnerability as a human. The artist can capture this in the drawing as well as feel a connection and respect.
There’s a positive experience in this for all involved, not just body positivity.
The human form is beautiful and so unique to draw, it’s not just the shape and colour of clothing. Skin colour, light and shadow, hair, bone, muscle outline, posture and and even an emotional depth the artist can capture.
It really is the best challenge for the artist no matter what their age or ability. Brilliant for focus, concentration, creativity and hand eye coordination. They say eta even good for ADHD.
Unnatural learned feelings of embarrassment or prudishness don’t exist in art and creativity.
Our sessions are here to benefit everyone.
What motivates anyone to model nude?
Reasons are as unique as the individual and the story is always wonderful to learn. For our model Sarah it was life changing news of an illness that could have taken her life.
Thankfully Sarah is still with us, stronger and with a new passion for life, nature, art and what’s right. ❤️
